Spain-based sales agent Kevin Williams Associates KWA has sold three Latin American titles to the UK.Arthouse exhibitor and start-up distributor City Screen picked up theatrical rights to hot Mexican titles Violet Perfume Perfume De Violetas and Streeters De La Calle , while the Feature Film Company took theatrical rights on Argentine film A Lucky Day Un Dia De Suerte . The BBC has television rights to both Perfume and Lucky for the UK.Williams suggests that heightened interest in Latin American cinema is a natural effect of films like Nine Queens or Y Tu Mama Tambien working in some European territories where now distributors are reaching out for other films. Director Marisa Sistach s Perfume was Mexico s nomination for the foreign language Oscar last year, and picked up five of the country s top Ariel Awards. Gerardo Tort s street kids drama Streeters, his debut film, was the biggest buzz title out of last year s Guadalajara Film Festival.
